City waiting for alluvium test results

Drillers testing the quality and quantity of water in the Washita Alluvium went ahead and drilled all seven probes they had been authorized to do, and City Manager Steve Hewitt was hoping to find out the results either Tuesday night or this morning. Those findings presumably would be a key factor in whether the city goes ahead and builds an in-town water treatment plant or not.Hewitt was optimistic early Tuesday afternoon as drillers were winding up the seventh probe.“It looks like they had two real good locations before they started this last one,” he said. All the probes are being done on city-owned land at or near the Riverside Golf Course.
